During the storms of '82-83 the community center was set up as a relief area providing food and support to displaced families and disaster workers. Here Mildred Sadler oversees a table at which the Kugelgen family, whose house was swept out to sea, is seated. There are many cups, bowls and paper on the table along with a coffee pot. In the background is Dorothy Mayfield and a park ranger looking over another table against the wall.
