In this color photograph a man (Hal Airey) and a woman (Oy Airey, his wife) smile into the camera. He is a white haired, balding man wearing a blue plaid shirt. She is a dark haired Asian woman wearing a print blouse that has red and tan bows on a black background. There is a black bowl with a houseplant behind them and a green and white print curtain behind that. Hal is the son of Frank and Marge Airey, grandson of Harry and Elizabeth Airey, who started the Airey Hotel/Airey Store at the corner of Highway 1 and Calle del Mar in 1908 moving from San Francisco after 1906 erthquake. This series of photographs were taken by Sally Veauta on the occasion of her oral history visit to Hal.
