A black and white original photograph of Volunteer Fire Department, part of Stinson Beach Fire Protection District. The first Fire Chief, Will Airey, sits in front of the Fire House on Dedication Day, 1949. School girls in uniform stand on the left and volunteer firemen stand to the right. The girls, left to right, are Lola Mancha and Joan Dittmar. The standing men, left to right, are Elting Hubbard, Manuel Fostine.

Provenance:
This is one of the photographic prints given to us by Lance Becker who owned the Becker's by the Beach store in 1990s. It is indicated on the back that it was originally owned by Louise Airey, who was the wife of a cousin of the Airey Store , and the fire chief shown here. Will Airey and Louise owned and operated the Seabeach Hotel. Louise was also the teacher at Stinson Beach School.
