A black and white photographic print of Bolinas Lagoon near present Volunteer Canyon of Audubon Canyon Ranch. It shows a pier with a gate closer to the shore and fenced in area, probably a duck blind, at the lagoon end. The photograph has April 70 printed on the bottom. On the back of the print, "Donated by Margot Patterson Doss" is stamped and written photo: John Doss. Margot Patterson Doss who went by her maiden name of Margot Patterson was a well known San Francisco Chronicle columnist of "Bay Area at Your Feet". In that capacity, she brought an appreciation of nature, wildlife and the trails of the Bay Area to people. She and her medical doctor husband, John Doss, had a house in Bolinas and later retired there.
