Black and white photographic print of the Sea Downs sign. On the back of the photo is written: From Dennis Mayfield Jan 07 Photo taken circa 1955 of Highway 1 sign leading to Sea Downs Resort. Sign painted by Jim Benn. The sign reads: SEA DOWNS on the Pacific, DINING ROOM Seafood-Short orders, BEACH CABINS, COMPLETE BEACH FACILITIES. The sign is placed probably at or near the present GGNRA southern utility road just north of the junction of Panoramic Highway. The 2-story building in the back is the rear of the motel. Monterrey Cypress hedge is along the road leading to the Sea Downs.
