A black and white photograph of painter, Thaddeus Welch, standing in front of the Steep Ravine cabin he and his wife, Ludmilla, built and lived in. The cabin has long split shingles on the roof and siding, the door has 12 lights and brick fireplace. It has a second floor (attic) with windows. There is a shed or storage building in front of the cabin near the door with a climbing plant. The bearded artist stands wearing a hat, watch chain hanging from the pocket of his vest. He wears light colored short sleeved shirt with dark gaiters on arms, and dark pants.
