Mildred has been a resident of since since 1926 when she came to teach at the Stinson school and when there were only 28 permanent families living here. She speaks a bit about the black-outs during the war, fishing for crabs, and the carnivals on the beach, the proceeds of which help fund the building of the firehouse, community center and chapel. Shes mentions the square dancing and the old Progressive Club, which was guided by her husband, Lester.
