Portrait of a man in a miniature top hat standing in front of a long table resting his hands on it. He is wearing a light jacket with a committee ribbon pinned to the lapel and an open-necked shirt. He has a slight squint to his eyes and a straight line smile showing his teeth. He is in an open booth with shelves behind him on which sit partially opened egg cartons. Also behind him is a circular (spinning) wheel with numbers painted on it attached to a stand with a circular base. There are pine branches and crepe paper hanging over the booth. The table has a paper display spread out on it. This man was in charge of setting off the 4th of July fireworks. His last name was Shannon
