Willow Camp Lake aka Poison Lake :

The Willow Camp Lake, believed to be fed by a spring near the present day Life Guard Station, was one of the topographic dividing points between Rancho Baulenes and Rancho Sausalito. It was called Poison Lake by locals because of the creatures such as snakes and turtles that lived there and to prevent children from getting in and drowning. It was filled in 1953 by the Kent family prior to the sale of the land to State Park Commission to create the southern parking lot (see 2001-329) .
