Trees and Wildlife :

The history of Stinson Beach began with the hikers who came over here by way of Lone Tree Trail now called Dipsea Trail. We have several photos of this landmark tree. Then there are the beautiful oak trees and majestic redwoods ubiquitous to the California landscape. The elm tree planted when the school was built in 1917 still stands. The Great Egrets, Great Blue Herons and Snowy Egrets are among the many birds that nest and/or migrate here. We see whales, porpoises and dolphins, harbor seals playing in the sea, and, yes, the sharks, too. The Christmas Farm started in 1950s occupied the land along the lagoon.
