Notes:
On February 18, 1995 four local young men, Matthew Perry, Eli Kempf, James Duncan nd Ian Duncan, all killed in an auto accident were given a memorial service on the beach. As they were members of the surfing community it was the traditional Surfer Ceremony consisting of all the participating surfers gathering on their boards in a circle offshore and scattering the ashes of the deceased along with leis and loose flowers in the center and then raising their arms and their voices in farewell. In Keeping with the magnitude of the tradgedy many of the companions of the young men shaved their heads in tribute.
