This original black and white photograph is a panoramic view of Stinson Beach, taken in 1951, from White Gate Ranch, or above existing houses of Panoramic Hwy. It shows the sweep of sandy shore of Bolinas Bay on the left with Bolinas Lagoon on the right and Bolinas Mesa at the horizon. Point Reyes shows faintly, in the mid background, jutting out into the ocean behind Bolinas ridge. The houses of the town can be seen in the mid foreground including the hill houses, no development on Highlands, the downtown area and the Calles and Patios. The sand spit is undeveloped at this time. Tree and rock strewn hills are in the foreground.
